Life Verse: Deuteronomy 30:19-20
"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying His voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days…”
Pastor Chris Moore joined the Second Family in April 2009. Chris’ life and ministry are driven by a desire to shepherd the congregation that God has called him to a “God Entranced Vision of all Things!” One of his favorite quotes helps clarify what is meant by a “God Entranced Vision of All Things.” The quote is from the famous American Pastor, Theologian, and Thinker Jonathan Edwards. Edwards was quoted as saying,
“The enjoyment of God is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied. To go to heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than our most pleasant accommodations here. Fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, or children, or the company of earthly friends, are but shadows; but God is the substance. These are but scattered beams but God is the sun. These are but streams but God is the ocean.”
Chris’ supreme desire is to shepherd the 2nd Family to this reality in their lives. This calling began in the heart of Chris from a very young age. While growing up and despite his rebellious ways, God in His grace brought Chris to this point in his life. In preparation for this calling, Chris attended Jacksonville College (1990), East Texas Baptist University (B. Arts., 1993) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDivBl., 2001). Along this journey, Chris has been assisted by his lovely wife Jodie whom he married in 1991. The addition to his family of John, Jacob, Joanna and James has further fueled his desire to see not only the church make much of God but his family as well. The loss of his daughter during the 2nd trimester intensified his desire and calling.
Pastor Chris lives in Angleton Texas with his family and enjoys reading, sports, spending time with his family, and enjoying his church family.

“The true believer falls in love with the Bible because it unveils Jesus Christ, who becomes the peace of his heart, the love of his life, the source of his energy, and the theme of his song.”
